Recently long-range UltraGPR technology has been successfully applied to the exploration of lithium-bearing pegmatite bodies. These surveys, conducted in Eastern Canada, Spain and Western Australia, have been highly successful, with penetration extending to beyond 90 m. Groundradar has developed specialised processing and 3D visualisation techniques to highlight the pegmatite shapes, as well as their strikes and dips. It is noted that whilst the surveys in Canada were conducted over terrain which likely contained some weathered clay at surface, the work was conducted in winter with frozen ground. The surveys in Spain and Australia were conducted over terrain with minimal surficial weathering.
